Yi He

He Yi (1996) is a guest PhD student from Sichuan University, China. Her research field is mainly the form presentation of movies. Her doctoral dissertation Knight-errant Movies and Imagined China——Research on Presentation of Martial Arts Scenes is in preparation, and her book Rereflection: Chivalry Writing and Cultural Rediscussion in Light and Shadow will be published soon.     

She has also worked in a film studios “Pictureland” as a director and editor, and has directed some commercials, propaganda films and drama films. Her work “Miss Right” won the Best Editing Award at the Second GAIA Film Festival.

He Yi is currently conducting a one-year film study at VUB under the supervision of prof. Katarzyna Ruchel-Stockmans.
