Tine Meganck
Biography
Tine Luk Meganck (PhD, Princeton University, 2003) studies art and cultural history of the early modern Netherlands in a global perspective. From 2004-2019 she was Researcher at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (KMSKB/MRBAB) in Brussels. Her publications include, among others, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Fall of the Rebel Angels: Art, Knowledge and Politics on the Eve of the Dutch Revolt (Silvana Editoriale, 2014), Erudite Eyes: Friendship, Art and Erudition in the Network of Abraham Ortelius (1527–1598) (Brill, 2017) and, edited with Sabine van Sprang, Bruegel’s Winter Scenes: Art Historians and Historians in Dialogue (Mercatorfonds/Yale University Press, 2018). She is editorial board member of the Series Netherlandish Art and Cultural History (NACH) published by Brill, and of Oud Holland, the oldest surviving art-historical periodical in the world. Her current research explores the artistic participation of sixteenth century Antwerp merchant families and the visual culture of early modern Netherlandish family life. |
