Doctoral researcher Brenda Bikoko has contributed to two exhibtions hosted in Brussels this year: Tell all the truth but tell it slant and New Hero·in·es.
New Hero·in·es is an exhibition in progress organized by the Brussels-based Troubled Archives collective, as part of their ongoing research on colonial photography. The interactive exhibition runs in Moussem from 2 until 16 June. More information, here.
Tell All The Truth But Tell It Slant is an exhibition by OHME exploring the concept of truth and the construction of knowledge, through the relation between art, technology, science and society. Next to the works of the artists, a number of scientists, philosophers, epistemologists and experts from different fields have been invited to contribute to the exhibition, offering to the public reflections, insights and considerations from the most diverse perspectives of contemporary society and trying to answer a number of questions: what is true, how is it decided, and by whom? What is the scientific method, and should it be questioned? Is science always right? And if so, what are its domains of validity? The exhibtion runs in FACE B from 25 May until 9 July.
