Ko Goubert
Biography
Ko Goubert is senior collections registrar at M museum Leuven. He is currently preparing a doctoral thesis on the work of ecclesiastical silversmith-designer Dom Martin Martin osb (1889–1965) of Leuven’s Keizersberg Abbey, under the guidance of Prof. dr. Werner Adriaenssens at Vrije Universiteit Brussels. An art historian (KU Leuven, 2008) with a keen interest in Belgian silver design of the 1920s–1960s, he has previously published on the work of Delheid Frères, Dom Martin and Wolfers Frères, Belgian crafts and silver design at Expo 58, and silver(smiths) in Leuven from the 15th to the 20th centuries. His research and curatorial work focus on the applied arts: he compiled the definitive catalogue of Design museum Gent’s Wolfers collection (2012), was curator and catalogue editor of Wiener Werkstätte Silver and Belgian Silver Design (Zilvermuseum Sterckshof, 2010) and Silver: Art, Object, History (M Leuven, 2015), and recently curated collection exhibitions Form First (2017–2023), Body Language (2019–2020) and Moved (2020–2025) at M Leuven. Ko Goubert is also a member of the UGent–VUB joint research group The Inside Story: Art Interior & Architecture 1750–1950 (ThIS), and occasionally volunteers as acting archivist at Keizersberg Abbey. |
