Katrien Verbeke

Katrien Verbeke obtained her M.A. in Art Studies and Archaeology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) with a thesis on the development of Italian landscape photography and Luigi Ghirri’s specific role therein. Currently, she is preparing a Ph.D. thesis on photography's role in visualizing and conceptualizing the landscape in the so-called 'Anthropocene.' She has been appointed as a Visting Student Researcher at UC Berkeley (U.S.A.) to investigate landscape photography in the American West and its situation within various environmental movements.
