VISU-member Hanne Schonkeren's master's thesis ‘The making and meaning of early medieval silver equal-armed fibulae with filigree decoration: A case study of the curious fibula from Snellegem by means of experimental archaeology’ was awarded the Thierry Stanley Beherman prize. This prize is awarded annually to the best master's thesis of the VUB and ULB concerning early modern art. The award includes a cash prize of 3500 euros that will be presented during a festive reception in the presence of Mr. Beherman, later in May 2022.
