Biography
Alicia Rojas Costa graduated in Art History at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2021. In 2023 she completed her master’s degree at Leiden University in Art, Architecture and Interior before 1800. Her thesis explored the production and use of drawn copies within Rubens’ workshop, with a close look to Abraham van Diepenbeeck’s enterprise in Fontainebleau during the 1630s.
She is currently working for the Research Foundation of Flanders (FWO) in a collaborative PhD project with the Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy). Under the supervision of Prof. Pieter Martens, this project will investigate how the commercial, artistic, political and military ties with the Low Countries enriched Florence’s architectural culture.
